GET OUT OF TOWN

The Southeast’s Most Dramatic Canyon Is 90 Minutes Away

About 1.5 hours from Greenville, Tallulah Gorge offers some of the most dramatic scenery in the Southeast. This nearly 1,000-foot-deep canyon features stunning waterfalls and a swaying suspension bridge 80 feet above the gorge floor.

Hike the easier rim trails with multiple overlooks, or grab a free permit (limited to 100 per day) to tackle the challenging 600-stair descent to the bottom. Either way, you'll get incredible views of rushing water and rugged cliffs. Perfect for a day trip when you need a nature fix. It’s dog-friendly within designated areas.

You can also camp in the area, although it’s getting a bit chilly this time of year, with lows in the 40s.
