Good afternoon, Greenville.
Today is National Go Fishing Day, and South Carolina has no shortage of places to cast a line. But if fishing isn't your thing, don't worry—we've got plenty of other ways to make the most of your weekend.
Let's get into it.
RESTAURANT SCENE
Authentic Indian Flavors, Modern Flair
Price range: $18+
If you’re looking for a fresh take on Indian cuisine, recently opened Kumin Kulture is shaking things up on Pelham Road. They aren’t just serving dinner; they’re blending traditional, multi-generational recipes with a modern approach that’s all about balance and quality.
They clearly obsess over the details, sourcing whole spices and Kashmiri saffron with the understanding that quality can't be faked. The result is vibrant, flavorful food that hits deep, soulful notes without being overly complicated.
Here’s what you should have on your radar:
Thecha Paneer: Char-grilled skewers with a green chili marinade that brings a serious, smoky punch. The paneer is perfectly cooked and incredibly fresh.
Desi Chicken Rasā: This tastes like a labor of love: chicken slow-cooked with onion, tomato, and aromatic herbs until it’s rich and soulful.
Mango Coconut Shrimp: A great starter, featuring crispy coconut-coated shrimp glazed in a sweet and spicy mango-chili sauce.

COMMUNITY CORNER
Greenville’s food rescue efforts get a major electric upgrade
Loaves & Fishes is expanding its local impact after receiving a new E-transit refrigerated van and charging station through the Whole Foods Market “Nourishing Our Neighborhoods” grant program.
Enhanced distribution capacity: The new vehicle and onsite charging infrastructure enable the nonprofit to significantly increase the volume of fresh, healthy food rescued and delivered to residents facing food insecurity.
Sustainable mission alignment: By transitioning to electric transport, the organization effectively bolsters its food rescue operations while simultaneously reducing carbon emissions and minimizing environmental waste across the greater Greenville area.
Dog of the Week
Nebula is a curious, independent explorer who follows his nose and does things his own way. He's not big on toys or treats, but his quirky personality makes him a great match for someone who appreciates a low-maintenance dog with character.
