Good afternoon, Greenville.

Happy 4th of July weekend! Enjoy the shows, and hug your dogs — fireworks are not their thing.

Let’s get down to the action!

RESTAURANT SCENE

Hearty Colombian Comfort Food Is Waiting at This Greenville Cafe

Price range: $11-$24

Colombian cuisine gets a full artistic treatment at Sacha's Cafe, where the hand-painted mural from local artist Hector Muñoz turn the dining room into as much of a draw as the menu.

The kitchen commits to tradition without holding back on portions, plating dishes like Bandeja Paisa and empanadas with the kind of generosity that makes Sacha's a regular stop rather than a one-time visit.

Here's what people keep coming back for:

  • Patacón Sacha's — Crispy smashed green plantains layered with guacamole, chicken in pink sauce, and shredded beef sautéed with tomatoes and onions.

  • Churrasco a la Parrilla — An 8oz skirt steak chargrilled over an open flame, smoky and juicy in the Latin American grilling tradition.

  • Especial Sacha's, the lunch special — Choice of steak or grilled chicken fajitas with rice, beans, fried sweet plantain, cabbage salad, and a warm arepa.

COMMUNITY CORNER

Greenville Ranks No. 3 in the Country

Greenville landed at No. 3 on CNN Travel's newly released list of America's Best Towns to Visit, timed to the country's 250th birthday.

Sarasota, FL, took the number one spot, while New Haven, CT, came in at number two.

Reader-Nominated: CNN Travel editors sourced nominees from readers and staffers, then judged finalists on attractions, food and drink, culture, nightlife, diversity and "wow factor."

Third Annual List: This year's list is CNN's third, intentionally spotlighting lesser-known communities over major tourist destinations with obscure histories and curiosities.

Get Out of Town

Behind the Scenes at One of NC's First Grade A Goat Dairies

About 1 hour, 30 minutes from Greenville

Round Mountain Creamery is a 28-acre working goat dairy and farmstead tucked into the forested hills of Black Mountain, North Carolina. Since 2002 they've handcrafted soft goat cheeses using milk from their own herd — making them one of the first Grade A goat dairies in the state.

A one-hour farm tour and cheese tasting lets visitors meet the herd, walk through the cheesemaking process behind the scenes, and sample the farm's flavors. Tours are by appointment only, since this is a working farm, not a petting zoo with a gift shop attached. Cheese is also available for purchase at the farm store or at area farmers’ markets.

Don't miss: The behind-the-scenes look at how the cheese actually gets made, start to finish.

Best for: Cheese lovers, families who don't mind a little farm dust, and anyone who wants a slower kind of day trip.

Bring this: Cash or a card for the farm store — and patience, since this isn't a drop-in spot.
