Good afternoon, Greenville.

This week doesn't pick a lane — music, food, and a few surprises all show up at once.

A Grammy-winning icon takes the Peace Center stage, a local farmers market tomato showdown crowns its next champion, and one Greenville spot is turning its patio into a tropical escape for the night.

Heads up — seats are going fast for Greenville Insider Dinner Club. We lock in reservations ahead of time with each restaurant, so once a dinner fills, that's it.

🍽️ Next Dinner: Thursday, July 30 • 6:30 PM

RESTAURANT SCENE

Judson Mill's Best Kept Secret

Price range: $12-$23

Live fire runs through everything at Mill City Kitchen, from the wood-fired pizza oven to the grilled meats, seafood, and vegetables that make up the rest of the menu.

Set inside the historic Judson Mill, the space keeps its original wood floors and old-mill character while making room for a full wine bar and retail wine shop stocked with more than 100 bottles, available to drink in or take home.

Here's what people keep coming back for:

  • Jumbo Shrimp — six massive shrimp with house-made remoulade

  • Shrooms & Onion Pizza — roasted mushrooms, caramelized onion, thyme, aged provolone, and porcini salt, cooked in the wood-fired oven

  • Steak Salad — flank steak, croutons, cherry tomatoes, carrots, red onion, mixed greens, crispy onions, and roasted tomato vinaigrette

  • Cold beer and Prosecco on tap

Family-friendly service that regulars describe as consistently gracious, even with young kids in tow.

GET OUT OF TOWN

Your Weekend at the Seafood Capital

About 4 hours from Greenville

Murrells Inlet has earned its nickname as the Seafood Capital of South Carolina, and the MarshWalk is where that reputation gets proven right — a waterfront boardwalk lined with restaurants dishing out fresh, locally caught seafood over marsh views.

Beyond the table, Crazy Sister Marina runs dolphin cruises, jet ski rentals, and fishing charters right off the boardwalk. A few minutes south, Huntington Beach State Park packs 2,500 acres, a National Historic Landmark castle, and some of the best birding on the East Coast into one stop. Brookgreen Gardens sits right across the highway.

Don't miss: pairing the state park and Brookgreen Gardens in the same day — they're across the street from each other.

Best for: seafood lovers, birders, and anyone due for a weekend on the water.

REAL ESTATE

FOR SALE | 3 BEDROOMS | 2 BATHROOMS | 1764 SQ FT | $425K

6 Chickasaw is a thoughtfully renovated 3-bedroom, 2-bath brick ranch on a landscaped lot, with an updated kitchen and bathrooms alongside its original character. The real draw is the private courtyard garden — climbing roses, a koi pond, and established landscaping create a true outdoor retreat. A two-car garage with an attached workshop adds space for hobbies or storage. Minutes from downtown Greenville, Furman University, the Swamp Rabbit Trail, and Travelers Rest.

DOG OF THE WEEK

This goofy, affectionate pup loves tennis balls, treats, and snuggles with his favorite people. Clever and eager to learn, he already knows "sit" and just needs a little training for his enthusiastic jumps. Big personality, bigger heart!

Thanks for reading, Greenville — see you next week!
