Good afternoon, Greenville.
Less than 2 days remain in July. Summer's not over, but the bucket list clock is ticking — and we've got a few picks in today's issue that could make the list.
RESTAURANT SCENE
Greenville's Home-Cooked Afghan Kitchen
Price range: $17-$25
For over 20 years, Nelofar Mayar has brought her family’s recipes to Greenville, preparing each meal herself in a kitchen that operates cafeteria-style on weekdays and offers a full menu on Fridays and Saturdays.
Mayar has taught Afghan cooking classes at Furman University, and that same hands-on approach is reflected in her food. Simple ingredients are elevated with warm seasonings, creating authentic Afghan cuisine that is both comforting and memorable.
Here's what people keep coming back for:
Dogh: A refreshing, cold yogurt and mint drink
Authentic, homemade food: Crafted from time-honored family recipes
Nakud: A savory, deeply flavorful chickpea dish

GET OUT OF TOWN
An Afternoon Built Around One Iconic Brand
Atlanta's World of Coca-Cola turns 140+ years of one brand's history into a genuinely fun afternoon, anchored by the vault holding the actual secret formula.
Inside, visitors walk through more than 1,200 artifacts tracing the company's global reach, watch a working bottling line stamp out personalized bottles to take home, and catch a 4-D movie that doesn't hold back on the theatrics. The main draw for most people is Taste It, a tasting room pouring more than 60 beverages from around the world — some familiar, some genuinely strange.
It's built for a full afternoon rather than a quick stop. Self-guided tours mean groups can split up and move at their own pace, and the Bottle Top Cafe makes it easy to turn the visit into most of a day without leaving the building.
Best for: Families and groups looking for an easy day trip with a built-in souvenir.
Good to know: Group rates available for larger parties; parking and accessible facilities on site.
