RESTAURANT SCENE

Greenville kicks off Restaurant Week

Local restaurants across Greenville are rolling out fixed-price menus for a eleven-day stretch — a chance to try something new or return to a favorite with a set price and no guesswork. It's also a boost for restaurants during a stretch that tends to be quieter.

Here's what makes it worth planning around:

  • Fixed-price menus mean a curated meal at a set cost, with no guesswork

  • A built-in excuse for a date night, a midweek treat, or finally trying that spot on your list

  • Every reservation directly supports a local business

GET OUT OF TOWN

Daniel Stowe: Gardens, Trails, and a Little Adventure

Located about 2.5 hours from Greenville in Belmont, NC, the Gardens at Stowe unfold across seasonal displays, sparkling fountains, and the Conservatory, with Piedmont Prairie stretching out beyond the formal beds. Lost Hollow, the Adventure Trail, and Prairie Castle Playground add a layer built for exploring on foot. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, garden admission also opens up the Butterfly Bungalow's free-flying pollinator habitat.

Kids can lose themselves in Lost Hollow and the Adventure Trail while the gardens shift with the seasons around them. Stowe's trails, Dog Park, The Trailhead Store, and Farmhouse Garden Center are open to the public without paid garden admission, so there's plenty to do even outside the gates.

Grab a bite at Big Leaf Café + Shop in the Garden Pavilion.

Don't miss: The Butterfly Bungalow, open seasonally from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Bring this: A membership if you'll visit more than once — it covers unlimited daytime admission for a year.

Good to know: Closed Mondays and Tuesdays; general admission tickets must be redeemed within 48 hours of purchase.
